"Mr President, why haven't you announced a plan to get 36 million unemployed Americans back to work. You're overseeing historic economic despair," asked CBS' Paula Reid during the journalists' Q&A in a cabinet meeting at the White House in Washington DC on Tuesday. "Just a rude person, you are. We're opening up our country. We're opening it up very fast," Trump replied and interrupted Reid's second question adding, "That's enough of you." Trump also criticised China's response to the coronavirus pandemic again on Tuesday, referring to the disease as "the plague". "I am very disappointed in China," he said while implying that the trade deal which was being negotiated between the two countries before the start of the pandemic could be smaller as a result of China's handling of the virus. He added, "Once the virus came in, once the plague, as I call it, came in, I said, how did they let that happen? How did they let that happen? And how come it didn't go into other sections of China? Why did they block it from leaving Wuhan? But they didn't block it from going to the rest of the world, including the United States. Why is that? Beijing doesn't have it. Other places don't have it. So why is it that it was blocked very effectively from leaving that area and going into China? But it went out to the rest of the world, including the United States. And why didn't they let us go in and help them fix it?" During the meeting, Trump signed an executive order "instructing federal agencies to use any authority to waive, suspend and eliminate unnecessary regulations that impede economic recovery," with the goal of helping the economy recover from the consequences of the coronavirus outbreak and boost the US economy. The US President, who recently admitted to taking the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine to try and curb COVID-19 effects, was seen without mask, as well as officials, although they remained spaced apart following distancing measures. With more than 1.5 million confirmed cases of coronavirus and over 90,000 people having with the virus, the United States is the worst affected country in the world.
