Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe US President Donald Trump reiterated his intention to cut funding to the World Health Organization (WHO) during a press conference in Washington DC, on Tuesday, saying the international body had to "clean up their act" Asked about the content of a letter sent to the WHO, laying out which reforms the United States would want the body to implement, Trump said, "It says in the letter. I don't want to go through it, the letter is a very detailed, long letter. But basically they have to clean up their act. They have to do a better job. They have to be much more fair to other countries, including the United States. Or we're not going to be involved with them anymore, we'll do it a separate way." Though Trump didn't expand on any specific tasks he was asking the organisation to do better, it has been reported that he told WHO he would cut funding unless "substantive improvements" happen in the next 30 days. On the ban on non essential travel over the Canadian border, he said, "We're dealing with the prime minister, he's a friend of ours, and we're very close to Canada. We just signed the USMCA, which is a big deal. It's with Mexico and with Canada and we're dealing on that subject." The United States and Canada have an agreement to keep the border closed to all non-essential travel until June 21st amid the coronavirus pandemic. The restrictions have been in place since March 18th and were then further extended some weeks later.
